PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) -A youth soccer team’s season is in jeopardy after their coach says Prince George County officials no longer want them to wear a bible verse on the back of their jerseys.

“I have yet to see any rule that we have broken,” said Kicks’ soccer coach Andrew Collins. “I just keep getting the same response that no child is allowed to play on the soccer field with a bible verse on their jersey.”

The Kicks, a team made up of seven- and eight-year-olds, were scheduled to play Saturday morning. Coach Collins tells 12 On Your Side that this isn’t the first season the verse has made it to the soccer field.

While other teams may have the players’ names on their backs, he likes to put a Bible verse on his and his sons’.
