OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - On a peaceful day at the Gene Leahy Mall, people’s minds remained on the death of Charlie Kirk .
“I just thought it was awful, people should be able to speak the truth,” Lanisha Johnson said. “They should be able to voice their opinions.”
At the University of Nebraska-Omaha, students are still processing what happened.
“I’m just confused about a lot of things, and I’m just kind of distraught,” Cohen Trotter, a UNO freshman, said.
Those First Alert 6 spoke with agreed that violence has no place in political discussion. Some said it isn’t who we are.
“I do not think this is what we should be doing so that is definitely not what we should have in our country.” Christine Miller said.
“I’m not for taking anyone’s life if it’s not a situation of war or self-defense,”
