Australians have again poured into city centres in their thousands, with multiple rallies unfolding across capital cities and regional hubs on Saturday.
In Melbourne alone, four separate demonstrations are being held, causing heavy disruption to traffic.
Signs carried by protesters reflected starkly different causes, with placards reading “Australia’s sovereignty … has been eroded” appearing alongside others declaring “No! To white supremacy” and “Peace for Gaza”.
Crowds were significant outside Flinders Street Station, where an estimated 5000 people joined a “Rally Against Racism”.
At one meeting point in Melbourne, the “Rally against Racism” is being blocked on Spring Street by the mounted police forming a line, stopping the protestors from coming in contact with the anti-immigration
