MOAB, Utah (ABC4) — You have a chance to learn about mining history and cleanup this October when the Moab Museum is facilitating an abandoned mine reclamation site tour.
This event is a half-day field trip beginning at the Moab Museum, and it will explore the Yellowcat Mining Area north of Arches National Park. Check the Moab Museum's website closer to the date, as they will be announcing which mines the tour will explore.
The tour begins at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, October 3. Participants will meet at the museum to meet the leaders of the trip and work out logistics of transportation. On the tour, you will learn about mining history and the legacies of these mines, alongside experts in mine closures and site cleanup.
