HERMON -- The Hermon Hawks held off the Wells Warriors on Friday night, picking up a 22-16 win at home.

It's been quite the start to the year for Hermon, as they've taken on the two state finalists in Class D from last season, beating runner up Foxcroft Academy in week one followed by this win over defending D champion Wells.

In the first quarter, Hermon fumbled inside their own red zone, but got a stop and forced 4th down. In punt formation, the long snapper sailed it over the Wells punters head, which resulted in a safety, 2-0 Hermon.

Hermon would get the ball back after the safety, and on that drive Ethan Curtis connected with Sam Hopkins who had his man beat on a double move for a touchdown pass and Hermon took a 9-0 lead.
