MELISSA – One of the Celina football team’s strengths during last season’s run to the Class 4A Division I state championship was its penchant for controlling games in the second half.

The Bobcats have struck a familiar chord to open their 2025 campaign, outscoring the duo of Bellville and Waco La Vega 48-14 over the final two quarters, and they distanced from a third straight state-ranked opponent in similar fashion on Friday – turning a 10-point halftime lead on Gunter into a 43-19 victory from Coach Kenny Deel Stadium to improve to 3-0 on the year.
