San Diego police on Friday night released images of two men they are calling persons of interest in connection with a deadly shooting in Ocean Beach earlier this week.
The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the parking lot next to popular burger joint Hodad's on Newport Avenue near Bacon Street, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Investigators say the man killed — identified by family as Joseph Bojorquez Jr. — was involved in a confrontation with two other men that night. The victim punched one of them, but the second man did the shooting, according to SDPD.
Bojorquez was taken to the hospital, where he later died. The police department is still looking for both suspects.
