TUSTIN — Troy football coach Michael Echaves has been around his fair share of special players during his football life.
He has no issue adding Ethan Mundt to that group.
The senior running back had a remarkable six-touchdown performance for the Warriors and finished with 329 yards and five rushing touchdowns to help beat Foothill, 49-21, on Friday night at Tustin High.
“I mean, the guy is special, he is one of the better football players, overall, that we’ve had come through in a long time.” Echaves said. “Obviously, we had Vander (Ploog), a very special player, and then (former NFL player) Derrick Coleman was a very special player, but Ethan is just in the elite crowd, and man, he just knows how to play football, knows how to play it well, I’m really, really excited about his future a
