Far from fancy, Highmark Stadium was short on frills, long on fun
We’ve begun the long goodbye, a semi-sad farewell to a venue that has been the Buffalo Bills’ home since 1973.
Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, aka The Ralph, has always been a no-nonsense, no-frills structure, a blue-collar place for blue-collar Buffalo, even though that city is probably more white-collar now than it would admit.
Yes, over time, Highmark has been retrofitted, given some luxury boxes, etc. But, especially in the upper deck, it’s just seats, out-in-the open seats.
I sat there when I was a regular attendee. The snow came down. The rain came down. Always, we looked to our left, looked to our right and, with very little irony, quoted the words of Marv Levy, the legendary former Bills coach.
“Where would
