MADISON HEIGHTS – The Madison Heights Madison Eagles got big plays and began rolling late in the first half, reeling off 42 unanswered points to turn an eight-point deficit into a 48-14 thrashing of the Clawson Trojans Friday night.

Both teams started sloppy – committing penalties, dropping passes, and turning the ball over. But the Trojans weathered their mistakes better for much of the first half. Led by the play of Elliott Groves, who threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns – one each to Jordan Davenport and to Dylan Huff – the Trojans led 14-6 with exactly 2:00 to play in the first half.

But Tyrinn Davis would spark the comeback for Madison on the next play, returning the kickoff 70 yards to set up Madison on Clawson’s 26-yard line. Three plays later, Nehemiah Patman hit Arsenio Washi
