MURRIETA — Vista Murrieta had a block party at the expense of Bishop Amat on Friday night.
The Broncos deflected a 49-yard field goal attempt in the first half to preserve a 7-3 lead, and a blocked punt set up a touchdown that deflated the Lancers and allowed Vista Murrieta to pull away for a 29-10 nonleague victory.
Vista Murrieta had just taken a 14-3 lead in the third quarter after Bryson Beaver connected with Cash Bryant for a 43-yard touchdown. The Broncos’ defense stymied Bishop Amat on the next possession.
