MOORESTOWN TWP. — A 76-unit apartment building that opened at the end of August has the township that much closer to meeting its pledge to increase the amount of “affordable housing” here.

The Residences at Harper started construction in April 2024 using a mix of financing from private and government sources, including federal tax credits and money from Moorestown. It is the first such large-scale undertaking here, according to its developer.

Pennrose Management Company reached an agreement with Moorestown to do the project, with the township buying and turning over the almost 11-acre construction site at 307 Harper Drive near Route 38. All the apartments are priced to meet the state’s affordability formula.
