Tennis officials have been branded “barbaric” as Alex de Minaur suffered a shock loss in a dramatic start to Australia’s second-round Davis Cup qualifying tie in Sydney.

Belgium’s lowly ranked Raphael Collignon overcame severe cramping to upset de Minaur 7-5 3-6 6-3 in a three-hour, 12-minute epic at Ken Rosewall Arena on Saturday.
