Central Texas College’s Basic Peace Officer Course held a graduation on Friday for 24 cadets, and hundreds of family members filled the Anderson Campus Center in celebration of the new police officers.
The course lasted five semesters and tested the cadets on driving skills, written exams, firearm qualifications and defensive tactics.
The new police officers came from 13 different departments and scored an average of 91.7% for the entire course.
Savannah M. Griggs had a course average of 97.97%, making her the Honor Graduate for the class.
Around 10 a.m. guests stood for the invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.
