The Ontario SPCA is urgently looking for volunteers to temporarily foster animals at all 12 of its centres across the province.
Natalie Harris, community outreach co-ordinator for the organization, says there's been a growing need for foster volunteers and that without the extra help, the work will fall on staff who she says are already stretched thin.
"There used to be kitten season, puppy season. It's just all the time now," Harris said.

While each location usually has a handful of volunteers to turn to for help fostering animals, Harris says the organization is hoping to expand that pool of volunteers to about 10 per centre.
Harris says she's also seeing people who need their animals taken care of due to precarious employme
