×BRISTOL, Va. – The Virginia High Bearcats showed up and showed out on Friday night against a maroon-and-white clad opponent in what was their final tune-up for a highly-anticipated showdown with another school that happens to wear those colors.

Moments after putting the finishing touches on a 40-10 triumph over the George Wythe Maroons at Gene Malcolm Stadium, the conversation inevitably turned to a renewed rivalry.

Virginia High (4-0) hosts the Tennessee High Vikings (1-3) on Sept. 19 in the first gridiron battle between the Bristol foes since 2019.

The V-T Game dates back to 1911 and there is a heightened sense of excitement for this year's contest after the football feud experienced a period of dormancy.
