FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Police are investigating after a deadly officer-involved shooting in Fort Wayne Friday night.

Indiana State Police (ISP) said a deputy with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department saw a car parked near Schwartz Road and Irving Road in Allen County around 8 p.m. Sept. 12.

When the deputy approached the car, ISP said he saw that the person in the car was armed with a gun.

The officer called for backup and officers with Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Wayne Police Department and ISP arrived.

Police said the person eventually exited the car and made an "aggressive movement."

After this movement, ISP said officers from all three departments fired shots at the person.

The person was then pronounced dead at the scene.
