A heroic Scots surgeon has spent more than a decade delivering life-changing care to people in one of the most remote parts of Zambia . ‌

Every year, Consultant Surgeon in General, Colorectal and Surgical Oncology, Mr Jonathan Hannay, travels thousands of miles from Scotland to Chitokoloki Mission Hospital, a small but vital facility on the banks of the Zambezi River . Patients have often travelled for hours - and in some cases days - to see the surgeon, who works at the NHS Golden Jubilee. ‌
