A young woman who drove a stolen truck so dangerously and recklessly that an RCMP officer felt compelled to draw his service revolver, fearing he might be struck, will soon learn how much longer she must remain in prison. The continuation of her sentencing hearing began Monday afternoon at the Penticton Courthouse.

Tiffany Marie Lakusta, 27, who had no prior criminal record, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving while prohibited, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and two counts of petty theft at the outset of the hearing before Justice Lynett Jung.

The court heard that Lakusta has been in custody for 280 days but will receive credit for 420 days served, as pre-trial custody is typically credited at 1.5 days per day served.
