Vanguard (3-1) invited Leesburg into Booster Stadium for its first district game of the 2025 season. The Knights weren’t so kind to their visitors after giving the Yellow Jackets (2-2) their worst loss of the season thus far 42-3.

Vanguard’s slim 7-0 lead on the first quarter looked as if it could be anyone’s game. Two minutes into the second quarter the Knights were up 21-0 after Kelvin Pinkney’s blocked a field, scooped it, and ran in the endzone.

That opened an offensive floodgate that a young Leesburg team wouldn't close until a field goal put them on the scoreboard in the waning seconds of the game.

“We've been finding ways to continue to get better,” Vanguard head coach Edwin Farmer said. “We know we got a pretty great football team here. We just keep putting together no mistakes,
