ASHEBORO, N.C. — A boy was shot and killed inside a home on Hickory Drive in Asheboro , according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they responded Sept. 6 to a report of a possible shooting and found the boy with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another child was in the home at the time, investigators said. Evidence has been collected and sent to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation for testing.
The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call Randolph County Crime Stoppers or the sheriff’s office.
Authorities said no names will be released because the case involves minors.
