SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The shooting death of Charlie Kirk is raising safety concerns and resulting in heightened security at political events across the country—including here in the Upstate.
On Saturday, the Fourth District Republican Club is hosting the ‘Freedom Farm Fest.’ Guests include statewide elected officials and gubernatorial candidates.
Club President Nate Leupp said the organization considered cancelling the event after Kirk’s assassination.
“There’s a lot of uneasiness about safety of people who might copy or mimic what happened to Charlie Kirk,” explained Leupp.
