CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Chardon Hilltoppers defeated the Perry Pirates, 17-13, Friday at Alumni Stadium on a Drayton Allgood 76-yard touchdown run.

The Pirates (2-2) were ranked No. 19 in this week’s cleveland.com high school football Top 25. Chardon (3-1) is unranked but could make a case for a spot after Friday’s win.

Chardon led 7-6 entering the fourth quarter. From there, things went back and forth.

A Jordan Higham 28-yard field goal gave the Hilltoppers a 10-6 lead. A Traxton Richards 14-yard touchdown pass to Nate Trefzger led to a 13-10 Pirates lead.

Allgood finished with 154 yards rushing on 22 carries. Teammate Andrew Cole added 104 yards rushing on 22 carries.

But the Hilltoppers got the decisive score on Allgood’s touchdown run.
