CANTON, Ohio — A stalled drive, an interception and a three-and-out was how Canton McKinley and GlenOak kicked off Friday night’s football game at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
But a 62-yard punt return from Darius Hill, and a McKinley touchdown on the next play, gave the Bulldogs all the momentum they needed for a runaway 38-0 finish to open Federal League play.
“Chris Crook had a great block on the outside, and I was able to keep going outside and use my speed,” Hill said of the return. “It was just my coach is pushing me, my teammates pushing me. I knew we needed that. So I got to give my teammates that push so that we can go out and win football games.”
