CHAPEL HILL — UNC football will try to pick up its first home win of the Bill Belichick era against Richmond on Saturday, Sept. 13 (3:30 p.m., ACC Network) at Kenan Stadium.

The Tar Heels (1-1) started the 2025 college football season with plenty of buzz on Labor Day before a blowout loss to TCU in Chapel Hill. UNC improved in its 20-3 win at Charlotte, but the Tar Heels will need to take major strides against the Spiders (1-1), an FCS programs getting paid $400,000 to play this game (according to a game contract obtained by the USA TODAY Network).

UNC quarterback Gio Lopez (224 yards, TD, INT) and Richmond quarterback Kyle Wickersham (266 passing yards, TD, 2 INTS; 103 rushing yards, 2 TDs) are among the key players to watch on the offensive side of the ball. UNC linebacker Andrew Simps
