The Washington Commanders suffered a big injury blow during their 27-18 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night.

Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, running back Austin Ekeler has been ruled out for the season after suffering a torn Achilles. The Commanders plan to use rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt as Ekeler's replacement.

"Commanders RB Austin Ekeler has, in fact, torn his Achilles, the MRI confirmed," Rapoport posted on X. "He’s out for the 2025 season. Jacory Croskey-Merritt, known as Bill, now becomes the Commanders RB1, while Ekeler sets his eyes on recovery."
