NEW ORLEANS (KTRE) - Former Lufkin Panther Ja’Lynn Polk has been traded from the New England Patriots to the New Orleans Saints, the Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports.

The Patriots receive a sixth-round pick in the 2027 NFL draft and a seventh-round pick in the 2028 draft.

Polk was drafted by the Patriots in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft out of the University of Washington. In his rookie season, Polk played in 15 games, with 12 catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns. He is currently on season-ending injured reserved recovering from shoulder surgery.

Polk joins fellow East Texans Erik McCoy (Lufkin) and Kendre Miller (Mount Enterprise) on the Saints.
