ST. GEORGE, La. (WAFB) - Two firefighters are injured, and three residents are displaced following a fire in St. George.
The fire broke out around 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, on Rue Desiree.
When firefighters with the St. George Fire Department arrived on the scene, they saw flames coming through the roof of a single-story home. After crews determined that everyone was safely out of the home, they began to fight the fire.
A second alarm had to be requested due to dangerous gusts. The flames were brought under control within 45 minutes.
According to the St. George Fire Department, the two firefighters who were hurt suffered injuries that are not life-threatening.
