Telly star Vernon Kay has admitted that wife Tess Daly had to stump up the cash for dinner on their first date. This came after his card was rejected, leaving them in an awkward position. ‌

The 53-year-old, who first met Strictly Come Dancing ’s Tess Daly in 2001, even admitted ordering the ‘wrong’ bottle of wine on the night. However, it didn't seem to put her off and the pair have been lovingly together for the past 24 years . ‌
