LAWRENCE — After the loss Sept. 6 at Missouri, Kansas football coach Lance Leipold told reporters how his team would approach the open week that came next.
Leipold said the team would lift on the Monday that followed, practice the next three days, lift and run on Friday, take Saturday off and then practice Sunday as the Jayhawks embraced game week for West Virginia. The open week would follow the pattern of those KU’s had in past seasons, including coaches getting out on the road recruiting. Coaches and players alike would address what they need to correct in fundamentals and more, to improve upon a 2-1 start that does include wins at home against Fresno State and Wagner.
