A man has been charged with the alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl in a Scots town. ‌

Cops received a report about the incident in woodland between Dunnikier Way and Hendry Road in Kircaldy, close to a high school, at around 2.30pm on Thursday, September, 11. ‌

Officers announced this afternoon, Saturday, September 13, that the 54-year-old man had been arrested and issued an update shortly after 7pm confirming he has now been charged. ‌

He is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday, September 15 and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

‌The walkway was cornered off by cops while forensics scoured the scene.
