Anton Dowds made his first appearance for a year as he stepped off the bench along with skipper Ben Dempsey in today's 1-1 draw with Ross County. ‌

It gave their United teammates - and supporters - a visible lift during a vastly improved performance against the pre-season title favourites. ‌

That Ayr's bench was packed with such quality and experience dominated much of the pre-match talk after Brown listed a support cast which included the likes of Dowds, Dempsey, Stuart Bannigan, Dom Thomas, Jamie Murphy and last season's top scorer George Oakley.
