VIENNA TWP., Ohio - Kids around the Valley had the opportunity to take flight at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport on Saturday.

It was all for The Young Eagles Flight Experience which allowed those ages 8 to 17 to take park in a free flight and learn about avaiation.

The Young Eagles program is a national initiative, launched back in 1992 by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) to educate and inspire young pilots and mechanics.

Bob Griffin, the co-director of the Ernie Hall Avaiation Museum, says this event is intended to spark and expose the youth to what aviation is. Griffin also says this is a special opportunity for them and their families to be in and around aircrafts because access to airports has become stricter since the September 11th terrorist attacks.
