FBI Director Kash Patel said in a press conference Friday that multiple FBI field offices, including the one in Pittsburgh, assisted in the investigation into the man who shot and killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk earlier this week.

Kirk, 31, is a well-known ally of President Donald Trump and a political activist who helped found the conservative youth organization known as Turning Point USA. Advertisement

He was speaking at a debate hosted by his nonprofit political organization on Utah Valley University's campus in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday when he was fatally shot. Following a 33-hour manhunt, officials said 22-year-old Tyler Robinson was taken into custody.
