AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM) - A former professor at Auburn, who was murdered a week ago, was honored at Auburn’s homecoming football game Saturday.
Dr. Julie Schnuelle, 59, was stabbed to death on Sept. 6 while walking her dog at Kiesel Park.
A week later, Schnuelle’s picture was on the south and north end videoboards during the pre-game eagle flight- a tradition among students, alumni, faculty, and fans.
The announcer stated that the eagle flight was dedicated to her memory before the eagle flew over the stands to the middle of the field.
Schnuelle’s funeral was also held Saturday at First Baptist Church of Opelika.
