Three meets into its fall season, nobody has figured out how to beat Boulder boys cross country. On Saturday morning at the prestigious Liberty Bell meet, that theme held true once again.
Despite some strong competition in the individual sphere — where eight boys ran under 15 minutes — the Panthers once again surged ahead to victory, scoring a collective 97 points to beat out second-place Summit by 48. The Panthers have also claimed titles at the Cheyenne Mountain Stampede and Wyoming Cross Country Invitational.
They have a strong core of seniors to thank for their success. Lucas Wik was the first to cross the finish line in Littleton, missing a sub-15 mark by just a hair. His time of 15 minutes, 0.2 seconds was good enough to earn him ninth place.
