Two handguns were taken off the street and four people face a slew of charges after cops pulled over a suspected impaired driver Saturday morning in Scarborough.
Toronto Police say officers were patrolling in the area of Birchmount Rd. and Lawrence Ave. E. when they stopped the driver they suspected of being impaired around 6 a.m.
During the investigation, officers allegedly located “two loaded firearms and a quantity of drugs,” Det. Matthew Wighton said in a statement released Saturday.
He said four occupants of the vehicle – two men and two women – were subsequently arrested.
The driver, Christopher Gillmore, 27, of Toronto, is charged with impaired operation, refusing to provide a breath sample and driving a motor vehicle with no valid licence.
