DENVER (KDVR) -- Public works crews in the city of Littleton installed a new protected bike lane on Church Avenue between Santa Fe Drive and Prince Street earlier this week.

The city said Saturday that the new protected bike lane is one of several installed as part of "Safer Streets Littleton," which the city website said is an "ambitious effort" by the city to improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety.

The effort aims to accomplish its goal "through an accelerated pace of infrastructure upgrades, increased traffic enforcement, and public education." • Public works crews in the city of Littleton installed a new protected bike lane on Church Avenue between Santa Fe Drive and Prince Street earlier this week.
