Man gets prison for Sioux City auto dealer robbery
SIOUX CITY — A South Dakota man who stole a vehicle at gunpoint from a Sioux City auto dealer has been sentenced to prison.
Thomas Lefthandbull, 28, pleaded guilty Sept. 4 in Woodbury County District Court to charges of second-degree robbery and first-degree theft. District Judge Zachary Hindman sentenced him to 20 years in prison and ordered the sentence to be served concurrently, or at the same time, with a South Dakota prison sentence.
Lefthandbull pulled a gun on an employee at Riverside Auto, 2373 Riverside Blvd., Jan. 13 after test driving a Chevy Impala and then drove away with the vehicle while an accomplice fled in an SUV that had been stolen in Sioux Falls.
The SUV’s driver, Aaron McBride, was later arrested after leading Sio
