When Ohio Governor Mike DeWine urged voters to reject a redistricting reform measure last year, he made solemn promise – defeat this proposal, and he would personally lead the charge for a better solution.

Fast forward to today, and that commitment has evaporated like morning dew, leaving Ohioans with the same broken system and Republicans preparing to draw yet another set of gerrymandered maps. Today in Ohio podcast hosts Chris Quinn and Leila Atassi tore into DeWine’s betrayal Friday, calling it “reprehensible” and suggesting it adds to a legacy that has become “dumpster fire.”

“This wasn’t some passing thing,” Quinn said. “He guaranteed us, everybody in Ohio, that he was going to make sure we have a solution.”

Quinn said DeWine’s shrugging off of such a promise in unprecedent.
