From Columbia to Summerville and Charleston, vigils honoring Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk are being held across South Carolina this weekend after the conservative activist was shot and killed while speaking on the Utah Valley University campus on Wednesday. He was 31, the father of two children.

In Charleston, a candlelight vigil is planned for Sunday, July 14 at 7 p.m. at the top of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. Organizers ask that attendees park at the foot of the bridge in Charleston or Mount Pleasant then walk to the middle to meet.

The Berkeley County Republican and Dorchester County Republican Parties are co-hosting a Sunday evening vigil for Kirk 6:30 p.m. at Summerville’s Hutchinson Square.

Kirk was famous for his outreach to college students.
