Members of the Sylvan Lake Art Society are seeking ways to 'grow' the town's arts community - via added spaces and bolstered awareness - to allow folks to further explore their creative sensibilities.

With extensive experience in property management, Meleny Hanrieder, the society's vice president, said the organization has - and is - opening doors for her to pursue further artistic ventures. The society itself has quite the history in town, having been formed in 1994.

Post-COVID, numbers had dropped but the will to keep the society moving forward was alive and well, added Karen Filthaut, the society's president. Currently, they meet the third Saturday of the month at Beacon Hill Elementary School from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
