When "The Breakfast Club" hit theaters in 1985, five stereotypical teens wondered if they'd ever escape their high school boxes.

Forty years later and still wondering, the movie's special anniversary theatrical re-release drew crowds to Regal Theater in Santa Maria on Sept. 7, where theater manager Dave Millard said many eager moviegoers embraced the re-creation of that epic, life-defining, Saturday detention at Shermer High School.

Judd Nelson (John Bender, the Criminal), Emilio Estevez (Andrew Clark, the Athlete), Ally Sheedy (Allison Reynolds, the Basketcase), Molly Ringwald (Claire Standish, the Princess), and Anthony Micheal Hall (Brian Johnson, the Brain) once again graced the big screen in the recent rerelease of The Breakfast Club at Regal Theater in Santa Maria.
