MCCAYSVILLE, Ga. — Authorities across North Georgia are searching for a 26-year-old man accused of shooting a McCaysville police captain late Friday night, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has now issued a Blue Alert to assist in the manhunt.
Police said Timothy Craig Ramsey is wanted on charges of aggravated assault with intent to murder a police officer after Captain Brantley Worley was critically hurt while responding to a call around 11:10 p.m. on Sept. 12.
The GBI alert describes Ramsey as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 185 pounds, with long brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen near 1st Street in McCaysville wearing a green top, green bottoms, and a dark motorcycle helmet.
