HYATTSVILLE, Md. — Funeral services for a Prince George’s County woman who was murdered in a Bowie home have been announced.
The search for 19-year-old DaCara Thompson galvanized people in the Hyattsville community and beyond .
The search took a tragic turn when a body that was discovered in Anne Arundel County turned out to be hers.
Visitation hours for Thompson will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.
Both will be at Kettering Baptist Church Legacy Center, 6909 Crain Highway, Upper Marlboro, Md.
Police arrested Hugo Hernandez-Mendez, 35, of Bowie and charged him with first and second-degree murder .
Investigators say Hernandez-Mendez is from Guatemala and has been living in the country illegally. Police believe he killed Thompson inside
