LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky State Police (KSP) is investigating a fatal collision involving four tractor-trailers in Woodford County.
Authorities said KSP troopers were called to help investigate a fatal crash that happened on Interstate 64 west near the 61-mile marker around 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Investigators say four semi trucks and two passenger cars were involved in the crash. Police said a fire did break out in the crash.
Two of the semi drivers and one of the occupants of the passenger vehicles died at the scene, KSP said.
Two other people in the passenger cars and one of the commercial vehicle drivers were injured and taken to different area hospitals, police said.
Due to the complex nature of the investigation, police said no other information is available at this time.
