LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) - It’s a rally to show support for former mayor Randall Weddle.

In a WKYT exclusive interview, we heard from him for the first time since his impeachment hearing .

“From the moment that we started having that hearing, I knew what was coming,” Weddle says.

After an hours long hearing, Weddle was impeached and City Council appointed Tracie Handley as mayor.

“I think if you watch the way that…the council has been acting in the last eight, nine months, everybody knew what was gonna take place. But immediately, and that whole entire day, my heart was bleeding for our community that we’ve [come] to this point," Weddle says.

City Council amended the charges against Weddle twice.

He tells us he believes the charges brought against him were, in his words, farce.
