Throughout the 2025 season the Padres have been prone to prolonged periods of offensive ineffectiveness. Just this week they've scored exactly two runs in four straight games. However, when they inevitably do break out of the skid they tend to do it in spectacular fashion.

That's what happened on Saturday night at Petco Park. The Friars blasted three home runs in an 11-3 shellacking of the woeful Colorado Rockies. The party really got started in the 2nd inning, thanks to Fernando Tatis Jr.

When the young star is using the entire field he's incredibly difficult to get out and he ripped a 2-run homer to right-centerfield, a blast that seemed to allow the entire dugout to give a collective cathartic exhale.
