IOWA CITY — Kirk Ferentz made history against UMass.
With Iowa football ’s 47-7 victory on Sept. 13, Ferentz stands atop the list for most wins at a Big Ten program. Ferentz tied Woody Hayes with Iowa ’s season-opening win over Albany and has now officially passed the Ohio State legend.
The record-breaking performance did not come in vintage Ferentz fashion, but that was in part because of the opponent.
The Hawkeyes put up a lot of points. Iowa also had uncharacteristic hiccups on special teams.
