VANCOUVER Wash. (KPTV) - A section of Interstate 5 through Vancouver will be closed from Saturday night to Sunday morning for utility work, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Starting at 10 p.m. Saturday, both directions of I-5 will be closed between State Route 500 and Interstate 205. The highway is scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Sunday.

WSDOT officials said they will be installing transformer lines over the interstate near the Main Street overpass. According to officials, this work is part of a project to improve the electrical system for people living in Vancouver and Clark County.
